Detroit Pistons & NBA Talk

And eyeball also tells me that he is quite bad on defense. Some Pistons fans seem to think he can be a viable 4 but as I said in this thread that he’s functionally a small big in terms of how he plays on offense. He’s fine if he’s next to Beef Stew offensively but is redundant to Duren since Duren can do things that Bagley can do except he can defend and pass.

We know you wouldn’t have traded a bag of deflated basketballs for Bagley so I’m not going to get into this debate again. Bagley had several good games down the stretch for the Pistons. Pistons don’t have much frontcourt scoring so Bagley gives them something they don’t have. And I’m not sure what signing him is preventing the Pistons from doing in the future so it is a lot of grumbling without consequence. We will see how he does with a full season in Detroit and then can form opinions based on that.

Well, it ties into my “team building” point that touched the firestorm here off. His signing and over payment appears worse when it was to retain a fifth center on a roster that has three forwards.

But w/e.

He has had good games on offense sure but defensively, he’s awful so overall, it’s a wash so he has to be incredible on offense to make up for the defensive shortcoming which he isn’t.

If Bagley does not work out some team will want that expiring contract down the line. In a couple of year his contract will look minuscule.

That’s my feeling too. They have 2 years to let him play and see if they can restore some value to him. If not, $13M could be a useful expiring amount on a trade they look to make for a larger contract.

I’m :100: per cent here for the T-Wolves this year. I don’t know if the trade for Rudi makes sense, but I want this to happen. It would be amazing for such an off brand and unfortunate team to finally get their lottery luck and stick with it and grab a big brass ring. KAT plus Edwards is super exciting. Russell is a salary cap problem but can be fourth or fifth best player on a champion. Rudi is a true unknown. Need some wings, like everybody, but go Wolves!

I don’t mind the design of the uniforms, but the teal itself, ugh. Use regular Piston blue and they’d be cool.

I am good with the teal coming back. I like that more than the Chrome or Motor City stuff. I am in the minority but I would still like the Pistons to retire the # of Grant Hill.

Teal looks great on dark skin but Charlotte and Memphis have better shades. I like the red alternates a lot better.

Love the jersey but I would have preferred a darker shade of teal. ^ you’re right, charlotte’s shade of whatever the f*ck color it is is brilliant.

I never understood why their “character” is a…knight?

Yuck . Adding more to get to ten

Yeah, for me the teal (a color that looks good on me) isn’t the problem. The yellow trim and the design/logo are what make it less appealing.

I like the “Pistons” lettering with the tail pipes. The horse … eh.

I guess it has to do with “horse”power. Engine pistons produce horsepower and so there’s a physical manifestation of that as an actual horse.
