College Basketball 2022-23 Discussion

I won’t be surprised at all if Izzo pulls off some voodoo and gets him back. But yeah I have on good authority that mid-season him and his “camp” were legitimately unhappy with his role. They expected one of Walker/Hoggard to leave.

Honestly the S16 run with Hoggard playing awesome was a big development. I think there’s a great chance we might have seen a Walker/Akins backcourt next year at MSU if Hoggard hadn’t played well in the NCAAT and the team made a run.

I think Howard would be a great mentor to give him advice.

Not sure Michigan is much of a fit for Akins. 1. He likes MSU and I think he would feel bad for going to M 2. We now have Caleb Love

There’s room for more secondary playmaking but it depends on what role he wants, but I think it’s clear an Izzo guy would never transfer to Michigan cause they have too much respect for him

Yes, if I was Aikins I would leave because this is not the role he needs or signed up for.

But I can’t imagine him coming to Michigan with Caleb Love and Nimari around.

Its gonna be up to whether he takes ishaba cash or actually wants to showcase himself.

The solution to this isn’t hard from an MSU perspective.

“It’s like we put a jail around all our kids on campus.”

Yes. Indeed it is like that. Or just is that.

I was playing in a summer league game the court next to Akins like 4 years ago and all I remember is that somehow a little “fight” that didn’t directly involve Jaden spilled over onto our court and I remember just watching him take over the game after that once mine was done. Dude has legit NBA potential and needs a much better role. He should absolutely get up and out of MSU

6th man Jaden Akins!
