I won’t be surprised at all if Izzo pulls off some voodoo and gets him back. But yeah I have on good authority that mid-season him and his “camp” were legitimately unhappy with his role. They expected one of Walker/Hoggard to leave.
Honestly the S16 run with Hoggard playing awesome was a big development. I think there’s a great chance we might have seen a Walker/Akins backcourt next year at MSU if Hoggard hadn’t played well in the NCAAT and the team made a run.
Not sure Michigan is much of a fit for Akins. 1. He likes MSU and I think he would feel bad for going to M 2. We now have Caleb Love
There’s room for more secondary playmaking but it depends on what role he wants, but I think it’s clear an Izzo guy would never transfer to Michigan cause they have too much respect for him
I was playing in a summer league game the court next to Akins like 4 years ago and all I remember is that somehow a little “fight” that didn’t directly involve Jaden spilled over onto our court and I remember just watching him take over the game after that once mine was done. Dude has legit NBA potential and needs a much better role. He should absolutely get up and out of MSU
