That was fun! Best U.S. game in a long time. The 20-30 point blowouts don’t do much for me. I like when there feels like a real risk of losing.
I suspect the gold medal game probably won’t be this tight, even with France playing at home. This was the one.

It’s so weird that flopping in the NBA game really took off when players from soccer-nations joined the league but now the world game is more physical.

For I think most (all?) of the 4Q they gave Jokic the Wolves treatment having the 4 bang with Jokic while the 5 defends the rim. Was often Embiid who gave up some ugly OREB opps but was solid at the rim and helping when Jokic gave up the ball.
Wasn’t perfect but once we decided to stop helping off shooters instead of off their other big things went way better.

it looked like Serbia’s entire offensive strategy was to have Jokic involved in a million screens until the US switched someone other than Embiid on to him and then have him attack the size mismatch while looking to pass when we helped.
