I have been on Beilein a bunch for not closing on top guys the past 2 years, but I don’t get how anyone cannot be giving props for landing a top 10 kid before summer. I think we snag Winston too in early fall.
If so, a roster of seven top 100 kids is around what I’m looking for from this particular staff. As long as they keep it up, I’m good. Add in some unpolished ruby’s (Levert/Dawkins type) and we will be a contender for the foreseeable future. And the more you win, the better players a school like Michigan gets.
Especially when we will be wearing Jumpman!
Lol
Love the snark whenever anything good happens. Too bad about the excuses the rest of the time.Something good didn't just happen. A lot of work went into making it happen. Can't you just give credit where credit is due?
Wasn’t knocking Beilein at all, just MattR for his snarky and lazy ad hominems. Anyway, Battle is a terrific piece and happy they were able to reel him in.
The surprising thing was the comment from Bacari when he said they weren’t going to get him. Why bring Bacari around and have these recruits visit if one of the coaches isn’t confident the player will come? It’s ok for a fan not to feel confident but when a coach is a representative of the university it just looks bad imo.
I’m sure Bacari didn’t make that comment in Battle’s presence. And I’m also confident that when Bacari was around Battle, he was recruiting him as hard as anyone else. What do you think he said, “Well, I know you’re not coming here, but good to see you anyway?” It’s amazing the stuff people will find to whine about. “It looks bad” - we got him. Who cares about what Bacari’s confidence level was after the fact? I’m sure the staff wasn’t confident on Chatman last year either, because everyone had him going to Arizona.
The football coaches have literally extended offers to like 200 kids. At best, we’ll maybe get 25 of them (so, 1/8 of them). We’re probably not confident about getting 90 percent of the kids we have offered. Should the coaches just not talk to those kids, or give up trying to recruit them?
Just because he didn’t think we’d land him, doesn’t mean he was working hard. And Battle’s recruitment was pretty close to the vest so I doubt he had inclinations to him leaning towards Michigan.
I work with disadvantaged populations and I know that I won’t be able to lift all of them out of the gutter. But that doesn’t stop me from helping all families to the best of my abilities
Just because he didn't think we'd land him, doesn't mean he was working hard.
Come on now… Why on earth would our staff not be working hard to land a recruit? What actions have they made that would make you even remotely think that?
This is getting ridonkulous

I can’t speak for Bacon141, but I suspect he meant to type “Just because he didn’t think we’d land him, doesn’t mean he wasn’t working hard.”
So yeah wasn’t instead of was
@JJ3 is right. @wolverheel , if you read the rest of my comment, it seems contradictory. Meant “wasn’t”
That makes more sense
Don’t think it has been mentioned but I believe we made the final 12 of Johnathan Issac, a long wing from Florida according to Jeff Borzello tweet.
What is everyones take on Ibi Watson? Will we offer? Or do we need to lock down a PG first?
Seth Towns to Harvard
Extremely excited to announce that I plan on furthering my education and basketball career at Harvard University
Great get for Amaker. It was an interesting recruitment for Towns. Seems like he was destined for Michigan or Ohio St. but the longer he took to decide, the more his options dwindled. Could do a lot worse than playing basketball at Harvard though. Did other big name schools also cool on him based on how he played this spring?
Seth isn’t really your average prospect. Really smart kid that seems like he wants to blaze his own path. Great fit for him at Harvard.
Harvard will continue to be dangerous come tournament time. Pity the four seed that draws them.
Wish Towns the best unless he’s playing Michigan. I think he would have been a good fit in our 2016 class

This guy claims that Tyus Battle is taking a visit to syracuse. Probably just a lie, but it is kinda scary.

He also withdrew from U-19 training camp which is odd.

Not really odd, he just isn’t 100% healed from his leg injury.
