2015 Guard and Wing Recruiting (PJ Dozier, etc.)

He visited about five times over the summer. His interest level seems way higher than Amir Williams’. I’d be surprised if he winds up anywhere but MSU or UM. If he wants to play in a PG friendly offense, that’s an easy choice

Williams’ visit total to UM easily exceeded 5. It meant nothing in the end, it was well understood he was never coming to UM. I think the same scenario will play out with Winston

Right now, I don’t think DT has “high” interest in anybody, including us. If he’s still legitimately considering 10 teams, then his interest is pretty diluted. Nice to still be on that list, but I haven’t seen any reason to think we’re one of 1 or 2 teams that are way ahead of everyone else for him.

I think DT does have high interest in UM, but I don’t think we lead contrary to popular belief on this board. In the top 3 yes, but not leading in my opinion.

I’d say we are in DT’s top group (i.e. smaller than top 10) at this stage, but there’s a lot of time left between now and 2016 early signing period.

Well, I’m not sure who here thinks we lead for him at this point (whatever that even means at this point), but I haven’t seen anything to justify it, other than wishful thinking and need. But IMO, you can only have legitimately “high” interest in one team, maybe two at the most. Any more than that, especially when he’s supposedly giving some chance to as many as 10 schools in all, and “high” interest just isn’t that much to get excited about.

I don’t know what scenario will ultimately play out, but Williams was never very interested in Michigan. I do not recall him visiting more than once or twice, and that was considered a victory just getting him on campus. Winston camped at Michigan last spring and has been back multiple times since then. I’m not a mind reader, and I don’t know what you base your opinion on, but Winston has “high” interest in Michigan, certainly much more than Williams.

MattD - when I talk about “unrecruitable” kids, here is a great example, and the next time you ask for “proof,” well, refer back to this article:

Proof or hearsay? In other words if you don’t have video/audio/written evidence it’s essentially just a claim by some guy.

Would you care to make a friendly wager concerning Winston’s ultimate destination? Im that confident on this one

Where are you certain that he IS going? Wouldn’t make much sense for me to bet that any recruit who is considering several schools is going to one particular school while you take the field.

Im fairly confident he is not coming to UM. Quite frankly, it’s nearly accepted by most at this point.

It’s kinda hard to get “proof” when your ability to prove your case normally depends upon the voluntary cooperation of witnesses. Give the NCAA subpoena power and it would be a whole different ballgame.

But in any event, I find it comical that you claim to be someone with better than average basketball knowledge and yet you refuse to acknowledge the obvious. Heck, when I was a student at Michigan I used to see Juwan Howard driving around in a brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee and he was never even a focus of the Ed Martin situation. Elite basketball recruits have been getting paid for 40 years, all the way back to the days of Sam Gilbert.

It’s so much easier for your narrative to take this kind of stance on whether or not the big boys are cheating. You want to sit back and criticize UofM for not landing 5stars, but refuse to discuss the main reason they can’t land them. You are hilarious…
